Is it permissible to fast while blood is still coming out due to stitches after seeing the white discharge and completing forty days of postpartum bleeding?

The maximum period for post-natal bleeding (nifas) is forty days. Any blood seen by the woman after forty days is considered irregular bleeding (istihada), unless it coincides with her regular menstrual cycle, in which case it is menstruation (hayd). If the blood originates from a mentioned cause or appears after forty days outside the time of her regular cycle, it is irregular bleeding (istihada), and prayer and fasting are permissible with it.
