Is it permissible to pay monetary expiation instead of fasting 27 days from the previous Ramadan due to pregnancy or breastfeeding?

If a Muslim is prevented by an excuse from making up for missed fasts until the next Ramadan begins, then they only need to make up the fasts (qada'), and no expiatory feeding (fidyah) is required. The obligation to make up the fasts is waived only for a sick person whose recovery is not hoped for; in this case, they must feed one poor person for each day. If the breaking of the fast was out of fear for oneself, or for oneself and one's child, then the obligation is to fast, not to pay expiation. However, if the breaking of the fast was out of fear for the child only, then the Muslim must both make up the fasts and pay expiation.
