The wife's condition that her husband only approach her two days a week is not binding, just as the husband's condition that he only spend on her these two days is not binding. This is because it constitutes renouncing something before it becomes due, and because these are void conditions that contradict the essence of the contract. Nevertheless, the contract remains valid. The obligatory maintenance (nafaqa) is the customary amount sufficient for food, housing, and clothing, and it does not include expenses such as car repairs for her.
