Do letters possess a sanctity that prohibits disposing of anything written with them in the trash, and necessitates picking up written papers from the ground and examining them, and requires taking action regarding newspapers placed on the ground, and obliges placing books that contain more mention of Allah above other books, and prevents placing textbooks in a higher position than Qur'ans and religious books in the same room?

The best cure for obsessive thoughts, after seeking help from Allah, is to ignore them and not pay attention to them. Nothing should be revered except the names of Allah Almighty, His Book, and the names of the Prophets and Angels. However, it is desirable to revere everything written in Arabic script due to its honor. The widespread issue of many papers written in Arabic script being on the ground has become a common affliction. Therefore, do what is not difficult in dealing with them. If you know that a paper contains something revered in Islamic law, then you must preserve it. You are not obligated to inspect every scrap of paper. There is no harm in placing books containing Quranic verses on top of each other, nor in placing scientific books on a higher shelf than a shelf containing religious books and copies of the Quran.
