Is it permissible for a Muslim afflicted with obsessive-compulsive disorder and urinary incontinence, who has stopped praying due to suffering from the repercussions of this on his purity, to return to prayer with a worldly intention (due to upcoming exams)? And is his prayer considered valid despite his inability to fully purify himself? And is it permissible for him to go for Jihad in Palestine to end his life?

The effective remedy for waswasah (whispers of Satan/obsessive thoughts) is to ignore it and not pay attention to it. Whoever suffers from severe waswasah regarding prayer should begin by consistently performing their prayers and respond to Satan by affirming that their prayer is sincerely for the sake of Allah. As for urinary incontinence, one should not prolong their stay in the lavatory, and there is no need to take precautions by tying a piece of cloth if it causes harm. It is permissible to adopt the madhhab (definition) (school of thought) of Imam Malik in this situation, as the emission of urine does not invalidate the prayer and there is no obligation to wash the body and clothes if they are affected by it, due to the hardship involved. Only the defiled area needs to be washed. As for waswasah related to creed, one should not pay attention to it; rather, one must seek refuge in Allah from it. It does not cause harm as long as the person dislikes it. It is advisable to live a normal life, strive in studies, seek Allah's help, and there is no harm in consulting a psychiatrist.
