Is it permissible for one who is in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) to invoke blessings upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, or to perform some forms of dhikr?

It is preferable for a Muslim, when invoking blessings upon the Prophet (peace be upon him), reciting adhkar (remembrances), and du'a (supplications), to be in a state of complete purity and a good demeanor. However, there is no impediment to dhikr, du'a, and invoking blessings upon the Prophet (peace be upon him) regardless of the Muslim's state, as Allah Almighty says: (those who remember Allah while standing, sitting, and on their sides). And 'Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to remember Allah at all times." This is unless the dhikr is the Qur'an, in which case it is not permissible for one who is in a state of major ritual impurity (junub).
