What is the ruling concerning the house and car that a person bought after accumulating their cost from ill-gotten gains (hashish trade), following his sincere repentance? And how can he achieve sincere repentance in a way that pleases Allah?

Trading hashish and drugs is forbidden by Sharia law. The perpetrator must repent and desist immediately. The money earned from it is ill-gotten and impermissible to own; it should be spent on general Muslim welfare. A needy pauper is permitted to take from it according to his need. There is no harm in owning a house and car resulting from this money if needed. The prohibition regarding this money is tied to the earner's responsibility, not the money itself. If he expends other money equivalent to the illicit gains for Muslim welfare, his responsibility is discharged, and the house and car become permissible for him.
