What is the method for counting tasbih, along with its evidence, and should it be counted for adhkar that are two or more in number?

The Sunnah in counting tasbih is to use the fingertips, based on the Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) saying: "And count with your fingertips, for they will be questioned and made to speak." No specific method for this has been reported, as the intention of "counting" is simply to enumerate. The matter of how to count with the fingertips is broad. So, whoever places the tip of the thumb on the fingertips of the other fingers, or places the tips of the fingers on the palm, has indeed counted with the fingertips. It is permissible to perform tasbih with both the right and left hand, although it is preferable to limit it to the right hand as per the hadith. Counting tasbih with the hand or similar means, for that which has a specific number, is done so that it may bear witness for the one who performs tasbih before Allah.
