Does a father have the right to interfere in the private life of his 25-year-old daughter who is employed, financially independent, and lives in his house?

Islamic law has granted parents a great status, for it has coupled their right with His Right, and because it is mentioned in the Hadith (definition) that the mother is the most deserving of good companionship, and that the father is the middle gate of Paradise. Parents deal with their children out of compassion and a keenness for their well-being, not out of interference in their private lives, in compliance with the words of Allah Almighty: "O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire," and His saying: "Allah instructs you concerning your children." Children are trusts with their parents, so they must attend to their religious and worldly interests. Parents should care for their children and guide them so that their eyes may be gladdened by their righteousness, as Allah Almighty says: "Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes."
