Is it permissible to wear a short coat with loose trousers for travel for the purpose of studying, in order to avoid harassment and the soiling of a long coat?

The Muslim woman's duty is to wear what covers her entire body from those to whom she is not lawful to be seen, based on the Almighty's saying: "O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful," and His saying: "And let them not expose their adornment except to their husbands..." It is not permissible to wear pants alone in front of non-mahram (definition) men; rather, there must be something covering them.
