The husband's father, who abandons prayer and practices magic, is an evil man. He should be advised, by clarifying the gravity of his actions, and prayed for, that he may repent. If he does not benefit from the advice, then it is better to shun him. There is no harm in serving him. It is the wife's right to have a separate dwelling from his family, whether they are righteous or corrupt. If a separate dwelling is not possible, then she must be patient. One must be keen to fortify oneself and one's child with the prescribed remembrances (adhkar) and litanies (awrad).
