What is the ruling on a father acting with his children at home, impersonating human or animal characters, and is it permissible for the father to imitate the voices and movements of animals?

If acting is free from শরী‘আ prohibitions, then the 기본 rule concerning it is permissibility. Among the conditions for its permissibility mentioned by Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen are: that those who deserve respect, such as the Companions and the Imams, should not be portrayed; that it should serve a benefit, such as addressing social issues; that a man should not play the role of a woman or vice-versa; and that it should not involve portraying an animal or a disbeliever. Therefore, for a father to walk on all fours while making the sound of a cow is not permissible.
