What is the ruling on stealing software if the producing company supports belligerent disbelievers, and will the doer be rewarded if he intends to inflict losses upon the enemies and their allies?

The wealth of the belligerent disbelievers is not permissible to take except through warfare and conquest. It is not allowed to take it through treachery and betrayal, based on the hadith of Al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) where he killed some people and took their wealth treacherously, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) condemned his action. Similarly, financial support for disbelievers does not permit stealing their software programs, because trade with belligerent disbelievers is permissible for items other than weapons and the like. This is the view adopted by the Fiqh Encyclopedia, citing the hadith of Thumamah ibn Uthal Al-Hanafi as evidence. Therefore, a Muslim must avoid stealing such programs, as it involves the suspicion of treachery and deception.
