The answer

The change in a person's state from heedlessness to remembrance of God is a great blessing that warrants gratitude. A believer is saddened by sin, but sins should not be a cause for despair of God's mercy, for God forgives all sins.

The frustration resulting from the fear of sins and transgressions is related to forgiveness and pardon. There is no room for frustration in the heart of a Muslim who knows his Lord and the vastness of His mercy. Excessive fear can lead to despair and despondency, both of which are major sins.

A Muslim must maintain moderation between fear and hope, having a good opinion of his Lord and approaching Him with obedience, and taking from this world what he needs without excess or negligence.
