What is the ruling on spreading fabricated ḥadīth about the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, via social media?

It is not permissible to propagate fabricated hadiths attributed to the Prophet, except to expose their falsehood, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever intentionally fabricates a lie against me shall take his seat in the Hellfire," and "Whoever narrates a hadith from me, believing it to be false, is one of the liars." It is incumbent upon anyone who wishes to transmit a hadith to first verify its authenticity. Brothers should be advised and warned about the danger of spreading fabricated hadiths.
