Is there still good to be found in times of tribulation, and what is the evidence for that? And how can a Muslim protect himself from tribulations in these times?
Goodness will remain in the Ummah of Muhammad (peace be upon him) until the Day of Judgment, as a group from this Ummah will continue to uphold the truth, and those who oppose them will not harm them. The Ummah is like rain; it is not known whether its beginning or its end is better. The early generations strived in laying foundations, and later generations strived in reaffirming and emphasizing. The Hour will not be established except upon the worst of creation, after a good wind takes the souls of the believers, and only the worst of people remain, upon whom the Hour will be established. The presence of good and righteous people among us is proof of this, and the assertion of widespread evil in times of tribulation is a negative and mistaken generalization.
