Is it permissible to give all or part of the Zakat to the needy before its due time in the coming Ramadan? And would it be counted as Sadaqah (charity) if I intended it as Zakat and then paid the full amount in the coming Ramadan? And what is the most preferable according to Sharia in this case?

First: It is permissible to pay Zakat before its due time according to the majority of scholars, who cite as evidence that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, advanced the Zakat of two years from Al-Abbas. Those who have migrated (muhajiroon) and those afflicted by a widespread calamity are among the most deserving of it.

Second: It is permissible to give Zakat to trusted organizations that disburse it according to its eight legitimate categories mentioned in the Quran. If you have doubts about an organization, you should give them a voluntary charity and disburse the Zakat yourself.

Third: If you intend it as Zakat and hasten its payment to meet an urgent need, then it is the obligatory Zakat, and what is given in Ramadan is a supererogatory act. It is better to hasten Zakat to meet an urgent need. If you can meet the needs of the needy from your private funds and then pay Zakat at its due time, that is better.
