What is the ruling of Islamic law regarding a deceased husband who insulted his wife with vulgar language such as "ya qahba (you whore), ya sharmouta (you slut), ya 'ayiba (you flawed one), ya bint al-'ayiba (you daughter of a flawed one)" in a state of anger and not out of conviction, and is this considered slandering chaste women?

One should supplicate for the deceased for mercy and forgiveness, and not delve into the burdens of sins they may have committed. Cursing the deceased with the word "ya qahbah" (يا قحبة) may constitute a qadhf (accusation of unlawful sexual intercourse) that necessitates the legal punishment (hadd) according to some scholars, unless another meaning is intended. A Muslim must beware of such abhorrent words. The deceased's wife should forgive him and absolve him from this insult, hoping that Allah will forgive her, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: "And let them pardon and overlook. Would you not like that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful."
