Is insulting a person's ancestry — knowing that it may trace back to the Household of the Prophet (Ahl al-Bayt) — considered an act of disbelief (kufr) that invalidates the marriage contract, especially if the insult was a result of intense anger and obsessive-compulsive disorder, and without the intention of offending the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) or his Household?

A Muslim must guard their tongue from slandering people. It is impermissible to slander a Muslim, their ancestors, or their descendants. Since the questioner has repented and shown remorse, we ask Allah to accept her repentance. Allah does not hold one accountable for what is merely in their mind, unless it is spoken or acted upon. Therefore, one must turn away from the whispers of Satan and strive against their self to repel them, seeking refuge with Allah from the accursed Satan. These whispers do not cause harm; rather, one is rewarded for resisting them.
