Is it permissible for me – as one who is in a state of perpetual ritual impurity (hadath da’im) – to perform ablution (wudu’) before the prayer time (waqt) begins, or must I wait, and are my ablution and prayer valid if I act upon the opinion of those who permitted it?

This issue is a well-known point of disagreement among scholars. The majority of scholars hold that a person with a continuous ritual impurity (hadath da'im) should not perform ablution (wudu') until after the time for the prayer has begun. However, the Malikis are of the view that such a person may perform ablution whenever they wish, and their ablution is not nullified by their continuous impurity.

This latter view is the chosen opinion of Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, and it has strength and merit. There is no blame on anyone who follows it. If you find it difficult to act upon the opinion of the majority, and you opt for the concession offered by the Maliki school, then there is no blame on you, Allah willing.
