Which is better: wiping over the head covering and ears as much as possible, or combining the Dhuhr and Asr prayers at home when it is difficult to perform ablution at work?
If a woman feels embarrassed to remove her head covering due to the presence of non-mahram men at her workplace, then it is better for her to pray in the most secluded place, with her entire body covered. It is permissible for a woman to wipe over her head covering (khimar) when necessary, such as in extreme cold or if removing and putting on the head covering is difficult, provided that the khimar covers the ears. There is no need to insert the hands to wipe them. A Muslim woman must be keen on fearing Allah and avoiding mixed-gender work environments, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever gives up something for the sake of Allah, Allah will compensate him with something better."
