What is the ruling on selling reshaped money as a gift or dowry, by taking the price of the effort and the value of the papers?

Reshaping and selling money falls into two categories:

1. When the money is embellished by the shop or the worker: If the currency is the same, it is riba al-fadl (selling money for money of the same kind with an increase). However, if the currency differs, it is a currency exchange (sarf) which requires immediate possession in the same session. 2. When the money is embellished by the customer: This is not riba, but it falls under futility, over-elaboration, and a waste of time and money without benefit.
