Is the call to prayer (adhan) obligatory for a missed prayer (salat al-qada')?

If the muezzin gives the call to prayer in a town, then it is not obligatory for someone who slept through the prayer to give the adhan, as the general adhan is sufficient. However, if the place where the person slept had no adhan given, then the adhan is obligatory, because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded Bilal to give the adhan and iqamah when they slept through the Fajr prayer during a journey, and due to the generality of his, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "When the time for prayer comes, let one of you give the adhan for you."
