How sound is the Hadith: "Consult yourself, consult your heart, O Wabisa"? And what is meant by it, if it is sound?
Wabisa's Hadith: "Righteousness is good character, and sin is what wavers in your soul and you dislike for people to know about."
Religious matters are of two types: 1. That which has a clear text: Obedience to Allah and submission to His judgment are obligatory in this case. Any rejection that arises in the heart is irrelevant; rather, one is supposed to have an open breast and accept the rulings, for Allah Almighty says: (And it is not for a believing man or a believing woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decided a matter, that they should [thereafter] have any choice about their affair). 2. That which has no clear text, and in which the opinions of the scholars have differed: The believer refers to what preponderates in his heart, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Leave what makes you doubt for what does not make you doubt."
