Muslims must support the religion of Allah and the Sunnah of the Prophet, propagate them, call to Allah with wisdom and good counsel, and refute misconceptions with textual and rational proofs. It is not permissible for an ordinary person to watch corrupt channels. However, it is permissible for someone knowledgeable in their religion and safe from being influenced to watch them in order to debate with the people of falsehood and refute misconceptions.

The story of Zubair relates to the Battle of Khaybar, where the people of Khaybar concealed money and jewelry after the peace treaty. The Prophet then ordered Zubair ibn al-Awwam to inflict some torment on the uncle of Huyayy ibn Akhtab until he disclosed the location of the wealth. Al-Shawkani considers this as evidence for the permissibility of torturing someone who refuses to hand over what is required of them and denies its existence if there is a strong suspicion of their falsehood.

The Jews of Khaybar were inciting against the Prophet and spending their wealth in opposition to Allah. The Prophet had stipulated to them that they should not conceal anything. When they did conceal, the Prophet ordered Zubair to inflict some torment on Huyayy’s uncle until he disclosed the location of the wealth. This demonstrates Islam’s justice and firmness in dealing with injustice and treachery. Forgiveness should not exceed the bounds of moderation.

Ibn Kathir mentioned that the Prophet forgave Abu Azza al-Jumahi on the day of Badr. However, when he captured him on the day of Uhud, he had him killed due to his previous treachery and his saying, "A believer is not stung from the same hole twice." Therefore, punishing a treacherous criminal is more appropriate than forgiving them, especially if their wealth is used in opposition to Allah and His Messenger. It is astonishing to see those who criticize the Prophet of mercy, while their reality bears witness to the torture of innocents and the silence of their religious leaders.
