The default ruling is that it is permissible for a woman to work in a field that suits her nature and physical function, provided that there is no fear of temptation (fitna), that Islamic rulings are observed, that there is no private seclusion (khalwa) with a non-mahram man, and with the husband's permission. As for work that necessitates her interaction with men in a way that leads to temptation, it is not permissible to return to it, due to the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "I have not left behind me any fitna more harmful to men than women," and his saying: "Beware of the world and beware of women, for the first temptation of the Children of Israel was with women." It is advised to seek good company and to acquire Islamic knowledge.
