Are the righteous deeds and repentance of a repentant person accepted if he is unable to restore the moral rights to their owners because they refuse to forgive him, and his repentance came after scandal and torment? And is this torment considered an expiation for his sin, or will he suffer disgrace in this world and severe torment on the Day of Judgment? And what must he do to meet his Lord with good deeds that will please Him and protect him from the torment of the Fire?

The wrongdoer should apologize and seek forgiveness from the one he wronged. He may also seek mediation through someone whose intercession would be accepted. If the wronged person refuses, the wrongdoer would have fulfilled his obligation. He should also increase his good deeds that expiate sins, ask Allah for pardon and forgiveness, seek forgiveness for the one he wronged, and be patient with the afflictions that befall him. All of this expiates sins and elevates ranks. As for his good deeds, they are accepted if they meet the conditions for acceptance, and Allah does not let the reward of those who do good go to waste.
