Shaving the hair around the penis is recommended because it is part of the fitra (innate disposition). The term ‘ana refers to the hair above and around the male organ. Shaving with a razor is preferable, but it is permissible to use tweezers or other tools to remove it, as long as no harm results from their use. Using tweezers is not considered an imitation of women.
