The answer

Commercial insurance, in all its forms, is forbidden because it is based on usury and gambling. However, it is permissible to subscribe to it for someone who is compelled to do so, and they should limit themselves to the lowest tier, with the sin falling upon the one who compelled them. If someone participates in voluntary or compulsory insurance and receives compensation, they are only entitled to what they paid, and they must return the excess to the insurance company. If the company refuses to accept it, they should donate it as charity, unless they are poor, in which case they may take from it what suffices their needs. There is no objection to the new owner transferring the insurance policy to themselves to benefit from the remaining period, provided that they do not renew the contract after its expiration.
