Does a kiss on the cheek or mouth between those engaged require major purification? And does it invalidate the ablution for married individuals?
"Praise be to Allah.
The betrothed woman is considered a stranger to the man until the contract is completed; therefore, he is not permitted to be alone with her or travel with her or touch her or kiss her. And it is not permissible for him to touch her face or hands even if it is without sexual desire. Just as it is not permissible to be alone with her because it is forbidden, and no other interactions are sanctioned by the law except looking. And it is not obligatory to perform ghusl (ritual purification) merely for a kiss; rather, it is only obligatory upon the emission of semen or intercourse. As for the invalidation of ablution by touching a woman, it has already been explained in another context.
And Allah knows best."
