Is it permissible for a husband and wife to drink alcohol together on their wedding night, by themselves, before intercourse?

Intoxicants are the mother of all evils, and drinking them is one of the gravest sins that must be avoided. Allah the Almighty has warned against them in the Quran, and many hadiths have been narrated condemning the drinker of intoxicants and his punishment. Among these is the hadith of Jabir, which mentions that the drinker of intoxicants will be given to drink from "tinat al-khabal," which is the sweat or pus of the people of Hellfire. Furthermore, the prayer of an intoxicant drinker is not accepted for forty days. Therefore, a Muslim must stay away from it, especially on his wedding night, so as not to begin his marital life with what Allah has forbidden, which could lead to misery.
