Is it permissible to take out an interest-bearing loan for studying and changing one's major, if the person has been unemployed for years, has not found work in their previous field, has exhausted their savings and government assistance, and cannot find anyone to give them a benevolent loan, knowing that they avoid usury and believe they may have been bewitched in a way that prevents them from earning a livelihood?

Sustenance and wealth are gifts from Allah, unrelated to faith or disbelief. Their abundance for a disbeliever is not a sign of his honor, nor is their scarcity for a believer a sign of his humiliation, for everything with Him is in due measure. The questioner is warned against usurious loans, for their outcome is deprivation. He is advised not to risk pursuing a new study at such an age. He is urged to seek Allah's help and to supplicate persistently for the relief of distress and the expansion of sustenance. He should also look for a temporary job, even if it is outside his specialization, not despair, and seek a lawful ruqyah practitioner if necessary.
