What does Islamic law say regarding my mother-in-law who harms me with her tongue, corrupts my husband against me, and causes problems between us?

The Hadith states that abundant prayer, fasting, and charity are of no benefit if a woman harms her neighbors with her tongue, and that one whose neighbor is not safe from his evils will not enter Paradise. A person cannot be pious while harming his neighbors and spreading corruption among them, for that and piety do not combine. He advised patience with the harm caused by the wife's mother and responding to evil with good; because it is the strongest means of repelling animosity and achieving affection.
