It is not prescribed to remember Allah inside the restroom; rather, it is prescribed to remember Him upon entering and exiting. It is recommended that the heart and tongue be in harmony when uttering the remembrances in a voice audible to the speaker. It is best that remembrance be done with both the heart and tongue, but if limited to one, then the heart is superior. Prescribed remembrances are not considered valid unless they are verbally uttered in a way that the utterer hears himself.
