What should a handsome man do to guard against being tempted by women, or against women being tempted by him? And what should be done regarding Muslims who openly commit forbidden acts and encourage their children to do so, especially with the intense media onslaught that promotes this, and is it necessary to explain the حرمة (prohibition) of these actions to them?

A handsome man must fear Allah in his dealings with women by avoiding seclusion (khalwa), physical contact (musafahah), and soft speech, and by refraining from excessive adornment or striking appearances, as a preventative measure (sadd al-dhari'ah). Furthermore, openly committing sins and encouraging one's children to do so is a dereliction of the trust of raising them upon goodness and protecting them from what harms them. It also contravenes the words of Allah Almighty: "O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire," and the words of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "All of you are shepherds, and all of you are responsible for your flock." The duty is to invite them to good and forbid them from evil.
