Nahār al-ʿAbdī is reliable (thiqah). Al-Dhahabī said about him in al-Kāshif: "Reliable (thiqah)." And in al-Thiqāt by Ibn Ḥibbān: "He makes mistakes (yukhtiʾ)." And in Tārīkh Dimashq, he said: "Truthful, Medinan (ṣadūq Madanī)." And Al-Ḥāfiẓ said in al-Taqrīb: "Truthful, from the fourth generation (ṣadūq min al-rābiʿah)." And Al-Dhahabī said in Mīzān al-Iʿtidāl: "Ibn Khirāsh said: 'Truthful (ṣadūq).'"
