Is it obligatory to return a stolen pornographic film to its original owner after repenting from it and destroying it?

There is no guarantee for the destruction of instruments of vice because the prohibition of such by hand is required for whoever is able, due to the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying: "Whoever among you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand." However, since this film can be erased without destroying it, an empty film should be returned to your friend's father, or you should seek his forgiveness. This is in consideration of the view of Abu Hanifa, who holds that instruments of vice are guaranteed if they can be used for something other than vice. As for the majority, they do not see them as guaranteed, and this is also the ruling adopted by the Hanafis.
