The wife is not obligated to obey her husband's parents, and her husband does not have the right to compel her to do so. Rather, her obedience to them is a perfection of kindness towards him, his relatives, and his kin. It is permissible for the husband to entrust his parents with permission for his wife or to spend on her during his absence, for reasons of need and benefit.
