What is the authenticity of the hadith: "The best of men's rows is the first and the worst is the last," and does it apply to a latecomer (ma'mum) with a valid excuse?

Muslim narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The best rows for men are the first, and the worst are the last. The best rows for women are the last, and the worst are the first." The meaning of "best" is that which has the most reward, and "worst" is that which has the least reward. Al-Nawawi explained that the rows for men are general, while the rows for women refer to those who pray with men. However, if they pray separated from men, then they are like men in that the best of their rows are the first and the worst are the last. The preference for the last rows of women who are present with men is due to their distance from mingling with men, seeing them, and their hearts becoming attached to them. There is no blame on a worshipper if they miss the first rows, but they have missed out on much good.
