Is it permissible to place the minbar inside the mosque to the left of the qiblah?

It is permissible to place the minbar to the left of the qiblah, but it is recommended to place it to the right of the qiblah; because the minbar of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was positioned that way. This is the view held by Ibn Qudamah, Al-Nawawi, and Al-Buhuti, and it is mentioned in the Fiqh Encyclopedia.
