What is the ruling on placing Qur'ans in cabinets at the back of the mosque?

Preserving Qur'ans by placing them in their rightful places is an obligation. The most suitable place for them in the mosque is in front of the rows and within reach of the worshippers. It is permissible to place them behind the rows or in a designated area there if the place is befitting and respectful. However, it is not permissible if doing so diminishes their status, even in the minds of common people.
