What is the ruling on one who alienates another from Islam, or from religion, or from a good deed, whether intentionally or unintentionally, through extremism or actions that do not reflect the essence of the religion?

The Sharia warns against alienating people from religion and commands inviting them to it with wisdom and good counsel. Alienating people due to the preacher's bad manners or discourse is an error. However, if the preacher adheres to what Allah has legislated, and people are alienated from him due to their ignorance or distance from religion, or if he is zealous for religion and forbids evil, then there is no blame upon him, for people were alienated from the Messengers. The preacher must seek what is most beneficial and follow the best legitimate methods while adhering to the true methodology.
