It is permissible to sell olives on the trees after their ripeness becomes apparent, and the zakat is incumbent upon the seller. The zakat must be given in the form of olives or oil. It is not permissible to delay giving out zakat, nor is debt deducted from the wealth subject to zakat in crops and fruits. Whoever delays giving out zakat for years must give it out according to their ability, and zakat does not lapse due to the passage of time.
