The answer

Packaging defective goods without informing the buyer is forbidden deception, and its perpetrator is not considered one of the Muslims. Deceit and trickery lead to the Fire. Therefore, it is not permissible for you to work in packaging defective goods when you know they will be sold without disclosure, due to the assistance this provides in deception. Assisting in disobedience to Allah is forbidden. You must refrain from packaging defective clothing that is sold without disclosure, even if it means leaving the job entirely.

As for the wages from work that involves assisting in forbidden acts, there is a difference of opinion regarding their permissibility. However, if packaging defective clothing sold without disclosure does not have a specific compensation, and the salary is for the job itself—which is packaging clothing in general—then the salary is permissible.

As for performing Umrah with unlawful money: it is valid according to the majority of scholars.
