How is justice achieved between wives regarding children?
Justice among wives concerning children is a matter of scholarly disagreement. Some scholars consider it obligatory, while others deem it not obligatory, and yet others consider it commendable. However, the opinion that it is obligatory is more cautious. A husband must be just among his wives in everything within his capability, except for what he does not control, such as love and emotional inclinations. It is not permissible for a husband to practice coitus interruptus with one of his wives or to abstain from intercourse with her in order to harm her, because the desire for a child is a shared right between the spouses, and it is not permissible to deprive the wife of it without her permission.
