Can the mother travel to the Kingdom after the death of the father, knowing that she is over seventy?

A woman observing 'iddah (waiting period) is not permitted to travel unless there is a necessity. If she is prohibited from traveling for Hajj, then other journeys are even more so. The wife's old age or her need to see her son does not constitute a legitimate religious justification for her travel during the 'iddah.
