Does excessive jesting and laughter affect the validity of prayer, and will supplications be answered alongside it?

The validity of prayer is not affected by speech and laughter if they occur outside of it. However, excessive impermissible speech indicates that the worshiper is not affected by prayer, for consistency in congregational prayer necessitates solemnity, tranquility, and avoidance of indecency and evil. Excessive speech without remembrance of Allah hardens the heart, and even if the hadith is weak, it concerns the فضائل الأعمال (virtues of deeds). There is no impediment to the acceptance of supplication when the conditions for acceptance are met.
