Is it permissible for a Muslim, who is commanded to preserve his life, to deal with lions and predatory animals without fear, based on the miracles (karamat) of the Salaf that were mentioned about them?

A Muslim is not permitted to expose himself to tribulation without a valid purpose, based on the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: “There should be no harm nor reciprocal harm,” and his words to someone who asked God to hasten his punishment: “You do not have the strength to bear God’s torment.” As for what has been reported about some of the Salaf exposing themselves to danger, it was either an honor from God to them, or their trust in God for the triumph of the religion, as Khalid ibn al-Walid did by drinking poison without being harmed, or like the story of Abdullah ibn Munir with the lion. As for Aamir ibn Abdullah, his story has not been found, and perhaps the questioner meant Abu Abdullah Aamir ibn Qays.
