How sound is the hadith of Ibn Abbas which narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, wept at sunset after seeing the island of Al-Andalus and that it would be the farthest island whose people embraced Islam, and that it would be the first place from which Islam would vanish? Are there any authentic hadiths concerning Al-Andalus?
There are no authentic hadiths about Al-Andalus. Al-Ajluni stated this in "Kashf al-Khafa" (2/420), and Ibn al-Zubayr al-Asimi al-Gharnati said in "Ta'yin al-Awan wa al-Makan" (p. 64): "Had any of those hadiths been authentic, I would not have deviated from them."
