What is the ruling on abandoning congregational prayer and leaving work in a company where employees assault a colleague with false accusations and insults?

The inquirer is advised to act with wisdom and deliberation in handling the situation. There are two main points:

Firstly: Regarding prayer: What was mentioned is not considered an excuse to abandon congregational prayer with them. It is a principle of Ahl al-Sunnah to attend it behind every righteous and wicked person, unless a better congregation is available. Abandoning congregational prayer and praying alone is not permissible and will not solve the problem, because you will still meet them at work.

Secondly: Regarding harm: Seek Allah's help first to ward off their evil. If there is a manager or a person in authority who can help prevent their harm, then do so. If there is no one to repel the harm, and your workplace has another branch, then request a transfer to it. A Muslim should not remain in a place where their dignity is violated and they are exposed to harm without being able to defend themselves. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "(It is) not befitting for a believer to humiliate himself." They asked: "How does he humiliate himself?" He said: "By exposing himself to trials that he cannot bear." Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi. It is advisable to arrange for another job before leaving the current one.

Allah, the Almighty, is the helper of the oppressed, so turn to Him and ask Him for protection and preservation. Let those who harm believers beware of Allah's wrath and punishment. Allah, the Almighty, said: "And those who harm believing men and believing women for [something] other than what they have earned have certainly borne slander and manifest sin." (Al-Ahzab/58). The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "O community of those who have embraced Islam with their tongues but in whose hearts faith has not yet entered! Do not harm Muslims, nor revile them, nor seek out their faults. For whoever seeks out the faults of his Muslim brother, Allah will seek out his faults, and whoever Allah seeks out his faults, He will expose him, even if he is in the privacy of his home." Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi.
